Resumen
Los virus y bacterias asociados a la presencia de las enfermedades, se han transformado a lo largo del tiempo, presentándose nuevos patógenos como el SARS-Cov-2. Aunque los virus se transforman, los sentimientos y reacciones de la sociedad ante dichas amenazas biológicas se repiten cÃclicamente. En el presente ensayo, se aborda la dimensión colectiva de la enfermedad, a partir de la construcción social del riesgo, la acusación y el estigma, elementos que se han encontrado presentes en las distintas pandemias acontecidas a lo largo de la humanidad, como la peste negra, el cólera, y el VIH. El análisis de estos tres conceptos, resulta relevante para comprender las experiencias y reacciones de la sociedad mexicana ante la actual pandemia por COVID-19.
Abstract
The viruses and bacteria associated with the presence of the diseases have been transformed over time, presenting new pathogens such as SARS-Cov-2. Although the viruses are transformed, the feelings and reactions of society to these biological threats are repeated cyclically. In this trial, the collective dimension of the disease is addressed, from the analysis of the social construction of risk, accusation and stigma, elements that have been found to be present in the various pandemics that have occurred throughout humanity, such as the Black Death, cholera, and HIV. The analysis of these three concepts, is relevant to understand the experiences and reactions of Mexican society to the current pandemic by COVID-19.
