Resumen
El trabajo indaga el proceso de fraccionalismo en el Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD), el cual transitó del consenso en torno a un lÃder a las pugnas entre fracciones, cuya consecuencia ha sido la caÃda del PRD en el peor momento de su historia organizativa. Desde un abordaje cualitativo y apoyado en el nuevo institucionalismo histórico, se estudia el
desarrollo organizativo del Partido. El principal hallazgo consiste en dar evidencia de que, ante la ausencia de un lÃder que pueda generar consenso, la excesiva fragmentación, la apropiación de los cargos de gobierno en beneficio de los grupos (no de militancias o ciudadanos) y los malos resultados de gobierno han sepultado al otrora partido de centro izquierda más importante de México.
Abstract
The work explores the process of fractionalism in the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), which went from the consensus around a leader to the struggles between fractions,
whose consequence has been the fall of the PRD at the worst moment of its organizational history. From a qualitative approach and supported by the new historical institutionalism,
the organizational development of the PRD is studied. The main finding is to provide evidence that, in the absence of a leader who can generate consensus, excessive fragmentation,
the appropriation of government positions for the benefit of groups (not of militancy or citizens) and the poor results of the government have buried the once most important centerleft
party in Mexico.
