Resumen
Este artÃculo retoma algunos ejes principales del pensamiento de San
AgustÃn que modelaron el pensamiento polÃtico de Occidente, tales como
salvación, conversión y tentación, a fin de ofrecer una reflexión filosófica
acerca del ejercicio del poder y su relación con la moral, sostén de una
“polÃtica de la fe” que en nombre del Poder-Bien-Salvador se convierte
en responsable del sacrificio real y simbólico de los hombres a lo largo de
la historia de la humanidad. La contención del poder, y, por tanto, de las
pasiones (concupiscencias) que lo empujan a la arbitrariedad y el desenfreno,
son temas que confirman la imposible conversión y salvación en la
polÃtica, ya que el bien salvador ha de ser más fuerte y violento que el mal
que combate si quiere lograr su cometido.
Abstract
This article takes up some of the main axes of St. AugustineÂ’s thought that
shaped the political thought of the West, such as salvation, conversion and
temptation, in order to offer a philosophical reflection about the exercise
of power and its relationship with morality, support for a “politics of faith” that in the name of Power-Good-Savior, becomes responsible for the real
and symbolic sacrifice of men throughout the history of humanity. The
containment of power, and therefore of the passions (lusts) that push it to
arbitrariness and debauchery, are themes that confirm the impossible conversion
and salvation in politics, because the saviorÂ’s sake must be stronger
and more violent than the evil that he fights, if he wants to achieve his
mission.
