Resumen
En este artÃculo se analizan las formas y funciones que la escritura puede asumir en un medio audiovisual como la televisión. Por “escritura” se entiende aquà exclusivamente al signo gráfico. De ahà que sólo se preste atención a la escritura que aparece en la pantalla. A partir de un corpus de telenoticiarios argentinos se expone cómo se generan, por un lado, nuevos usos de la escritura, vinculados con la audiovisualidad del medio televisivo y, cómo, por otro lado, se mantienen formas de uso ya elaboradas en los medios impresos, las cuales son adaptadas al nuevo medio audiovisual. Para extraer las particulares formas y funciones del uso de la escritura del corpus argentino se compara éste con noticiarios alemanes y transnacionales.
Abstract
Media Breaks? Writing on the Television Screen. This article analyzes the forms and functions writing may take on in an audiovisual medium like television. By “writing” is understood here only graphic signs, and therefore only writing that actually appears on the screen is looked at. Examining a series of Argentine television news programs, the author explains how new uses of writing are developed tailored to the audio-visual nature of television and how, on the other hand, uses already created in the printed media are maintained and adapted to the new audiovisual medium. To specify the particular forms and functions of the use of writing in the Argentine body of work, it is compared with German and international news broadcasts.
