Resumen
La cuestión del sentido de la imagen involucra tanto la discusión en torno a su naturaleza semiótica, como a su interpretación hermenéutica. Esta polémica es abordada aquà como la diferenciación entre la perspectiva inmanente y arquitectónica del sentido icónico, y la visión exmanente o pragmática de su interpretación. Este trabajo ilustra esta diferencia señalando no sólo las cuestiones semánticas, sino también las implicaciones éticas y polÃticas. Las teorÃas de la imagen se corresponden, de alguna manera, con los conflictos sociales y culturales por el sentido icónico. Porque la imagen no es un territorio neutro para la sociedad, más bien conforma un horizonte de disputas y diferencias en las que se compromete el sentido histórico.
Abstract
The power iconics. The question on the sense of image involves both the discussion about its semiotic nature and its hermeneutic interpretation. The approach to this debate is based on the difference between the immanent and structural perspective of iconic sense, and the pragmatic and transcendent vision of its interpretation. This paper explains this question pointing out the semantic, political and ethic implications of the matter. Assuming that in a social context, images are not neutral but imply different and clashing interpretations, which provide their historic sense, theories of image have a certain connection with the social and cultural struggle around the legitimacy of iconic sense.
