Este artículo es un estudio de caso que se centra en el análisis del aparato disciplinario de la Escuela de Ingenieros Mecánicos Electricistas (EIME) durante el periodo comprendido entre 1915 y 1932. Para la realización de este trabajo se consultó el archivo histórico de esta institución. El análisis se alimenta de la teoría foucaultiana del vigilar y castigar. La investigación muestra cómo las autoridades de la Escuela concibieron un reglamento de disciplina orientado a vigilar y mantener a los estudiantes en un espacio concebido para garantizar un estricto orden en la misma. Por otra parte se estudia cómo el espacio cercano a la Escuela, la calle, la vecindad y el billar permitieron al alumno romper la norma disciplinaria impuesta por las autoridades de la EIME.

This article is a case study centered around the analysis of discipline in the School of Electric and Mechanical Engineer (eime) between 1915 and 1932. To develop this research, the historic archive of this institution was consulted. The analysis is based on foucultian theory of the oversee and punish. The research shows the way in which school authorities conceived a discipline regulation orientated to oversee and maintaining the students in a specific space conceived to guarantee a strict order. On the other hand, this article focuses on the way that the space near the school such as the street, the neighborhood and the poolhalls allowed the pupils to breake the discipline imposed by the school authorities.
