Resumen
La lectura y escritura han sido elementos esenciales en los movimientos revolucionarios, tanto para sus ideólogos como en la divulgación de los fines y propósitos por alcanzar. De ahà que la ofensiva bélica de las fuerzas coloniales contra el movimiento emancipador de la Nueva España, se hizo acompañar de una campaña permanente de difamación a través de periódicos, folletos y boletines. Cuando los insurgen¬tes respondieron con estos mismos medios, los impresos que las autoridades realistas —civiles y eclesiásticos-más condenaron, fueron aquéllos que daban forma y cuerpo a un incipiente ideario nacional y republicano.
Abstract
Reading and writing have been essential elements in revolutionary movements, either for their ideologists as in the spreading of their aims and intentions. For the above men-tioned, the warlike offensive of the colonial forces against the emancipating movement in the New Spain was accompanied by a permanent defamation campaign through news-papers, pamphlets and bulletins. When the insurgents responded with the same means, the printed matter that royalist authority -civil and religious- condemned most were the ones that shaped the beginning of a national and republican ideological formation.
