Abstract
Summary: The author of this article, Josefina Pantoja, explores the possibilities of teaching philosophy to high school students through minifiction. Her article is divided into five sections. In the first one, she briefly mentions some of the most significant links between philosophy and literature throughout the history of the Western world. In the next section, she points out the most representative characteristics of minifiction and then she, immediately afterwards, evaluates the potential of
minifiction for teaching philosophy. The author then offers two examples of “didactic reading”, using two short short- stories (one by Borges and the other one by Monterroso), and shows how it is possible to reflect on some of the central issues of philosophy through minifiction. In the last section, finally, the author gives some concrete suggestions for putting this proposal into practice.
