Sistemas de técnicas productivas y sustentabilidad urbana: una agenda inaplazable de estudio

Resumen
Se esbozan las relaciones sociedad-medio ambiente, acentuando la orientación dual socioeconómica-biogeofÃsica que su examen cabal debiera contemplar. De forma general, se plantean algunos problemas actusles en el uso de los recursos naturales en términos de polÃticas económicas vigentes a nivel global. La importancia de ciudades y áreas urbanas se inserta en ese contexto, definiendo el desarrollo sustentable como medio para lograr relaciones sensatas entre sociedades y naturaleza. Se propone el análisis del desarrollo urbano sustentable con base en un enfoque biofÃsico, que involucra las nociones de microeconomÃa urbana y sistemas de técnicas productivas como expresión de las interacciones biofÃsicas entre sociedades urbanas y biosfera. El enfoque propuesto se fundamenta desde un punto de vista biológico y ecológico, y ofrece una agenda especÃfica de estudio sobre esos temas. Se mencionan asimismo, las limitaciones de lo propuesto y se especifican ciertos atributos biofÃsicos de sustentabilidad que, como desiderata, los sistemas de técnicas productivas urbanas debieran exhibir.
Abstract
We outline the relationships society-natural environment while underlining the dual character,i.e. socioeconomical and biogeophysical, that their proper study should encompass. In general some current problems in natural resource use are expressed in terms of economical global policies now in force. The importance of cities and urban areas is examined within this context. Further, we define sustainable development as a means to achieve sensible relationships between societies and nature, and propose a biophysical approach to the analysis of urban sustainable development. It involves the notions of urban microeconomy and systems of productive techniques as manifestations od biophysical interactions between urban societies and biosphere. The foundation of such a approach is sought in biology and ecology, and we offer a specific agenda to study these matters. We additionaly discuss the limitations of the above approach, specifying certain biophysical atributes taht, as goal, the sustainable systems of urban productive techniques should meet.
