Resumen
El propósito de este artÃculo es examinar un aspecto particular de la memoria colectiva
del “Proceso de reorganización nacional” en Argentina: el lugar de la sociedad y su
relación con la verdad de los hechos en las elaboraciones de la memoria colectiva
de transición durante el periodo inmediatamente posdictatorial (1983-1985). No se
trata de volver sobre las discusiones teóricas entre memoria y verdad histórica, sino
de analizar cómo en la memoria colectiva de transición del pasado dictatorial los
argentinos se figuraban su propia responsabilidad y el conocimiento o la ignorancia
que habÃan tenido acerca de la verdad de los crÃmenes del Proceso.

Abstract
The aim of this article is to examine a particular aspect of the “Process of national
reorganization” collective memory in Argentina: the place of the society and its relation
with factual truth in the elaborations of the collective memory of transition,
in immediately post-dictatorial period (1983-1985). The intention is not to return on
the theoretical discussions between memory and historical truth, but to analyze how
Argentineans figured their own responsibility, and the knowledge or the ignorance
that they had had about the truth of the crimes of the Process, in their collective
memory of the dictatorial past during transitional period.
