El enunciador encarnado: La problemática del Ethos

Resumen
Curiosamente, la recuperación del interés en la problemática del ethos no se dio inicialmente en el marco de la retórica, sino a través de la lingüÃstica del discurso. En lo que se refiere a Francia, fue hasta 1984 que se comenzó a explotar la noción ethos en términos pragmáticos o discursivos: en la obra de O. Ducrot, quien lo integró a una reflexión sobre la subjetividad enunciativa (Ducrot, 1984:201) y en mi propio trabajo, en el que he formulado una teorÃa en el marco del análisis del discurso (Maingueneau, 1984, 1987, 1999). En 1996 publiqué en esta misma revista Versión, una breve sÃntesis, la primera, sobre la problemática del ethos (Maingueneau, 1996); aunque ésta no se ha modificado en sus lÃneas generales, ha registrado una serie de avances en distintos aspectos. Por ello me ha parecido de utilidad proponer otra presentación, que ha tomado en cuenta diferentes aportaciones teóricas y que presenta ejemplos más diversificados.
Abstract
Curiously, the recovery of the interest in the problematic of the ethos was not introduced initially in the framework of Rhetoric studies, but in the field of discourse linguistics. As far as France is concerned, it was not until 1984 that the notion of ethos was explored in pragmatic or discursive research: in the work of O. Ducrot, who linked it to a reflection on subjectivity in enunciation (Ducrot, 1984:201) and in my own work, in which I have formulated a theory in the frame of discourse analysis (Maingueneau, 1984, 1987, 1999). In 1996, I published in this academic journal, Version, a brief synthesis, the first one, on the problematic of ethos (Maingueneau, 1996); although this one has not been modified in its general lines, it has experienced a series of developments in different aspects. That is why, it seemed to be useful to submit another presentation, that takes into account different theoretical contributions and offers more varied examples.
