Resumen
El presente artÃculo es una reflexión plástica e iconográfica alrededor de una Dolorosa del siglo xvii, realizada con plumas y óleo. Esta obra tiene especial significado porque se trata de una expresión artÃstica heredada del mundo prehispánico, que trascendió a la época virreinal. Si bien durante las épocas prehispánica y novohispana hubo gran producción y variedad de este tipo de manifestaciones artÃsticas, su uso decayó paulatinamente; sin embargo, es un arte que se ha negado a fenecer y todavÃa en el siglo xxi la familia Olay Olay en Michoacán y Eusebio MartÃnez en Milpa Alta continúan practicándola.
Abstract
The article considers the plastic and iconographic values of a Sorrow Maddona of the XVII century, worked with a mixture of feathers and oil-painting. This work has a special meaning because it carries an artistic expression inherited from the precolumbian world that trascended to the Viceregal Era. Even if there was an important amount and diversity of this kind of art-works during the prehispanic and colonial times, its use declined afterwards. Nevertheless, it is an art that has refused to dissapear, and in the XXI century, the Olay family in Michoacan and Eusebio Martinez in Milpa Alta still follow its practice.
