Resumen
Este ensayo pretende mostrar cómo los elementos que organizan la pintura de J. L. David Leónidas en el paso de las Termopilas (1814) definen visualmente una idea muy concreta del heroÃsmo que, en las circunstancias históricas en que fue creada, también podrÃa relacionarse con la experiencia revolucionaria del pintor, especialmente en su relación con Robespierre.
Abstract
This essay tries to show how the elements that organize the painting “Leonidas in the Thermopilae Pass” (1814) by J.L. David, visually define a very concrete idea of heroism which, in the historical circumstances of its creation, also could be related to the revolutionary experience of the painter, specially in its relationship to Robespierre.
