Resumen
La reflexión se concentra en la comprensión de Giddens sobre el individuo finisecular y en la formulación de algunas críticas puntuales. La propuesta de Giddens se inscribe en las innovaciones ocurridas en las dinámicas sociales de la última década del siglo XX y la primera del XXI. Establece como horizonte analítico, la línea consecutiva de lo que él denomina: premodernidad, modernidad propiamente dicha y las transformaciones contemporáneas de ésta en las que inserta su acepción de individuo. Caracteriza a éste y a su perspectiva del mundo, a su interpretación de las oportunidades de construcción e innovaciones biográficas que se le presentan. Innovaciones que, plantea, se han fomentado a lo largo del siglo XX, tanto por el derrotero del desarrollo industrial y su impacto sobre los modos de vida de los consumidores que van alterando las nociones y las dinámicas tradicionales, por otras; así como por los cambios políticos que han exigido al ciudadano un desempeño de mayor responsabilidad en sus demandas al Estado y en la reactivación de la democracia, que Giddens adjetiva de dialogante, permanente y generalizable hasta la vida privada y a los valores culturales, que resultan más diversos y flexibles (en una política de vida).
Abstract
The discussion focuses on the understanding of Giddens on the individual at the end of the century and the formulation of some specific criticisms. Giddens proposal is part of the innovations occurring in the social dynamics of the last decade of the twentieth century and the first decade of the twenty-first century. Set as analytic horizon, the line of what he calls, pre-modernity, modernity itself and the contemporary transformations of it in which inserts its meaning of individual. The individual it is characterized also their world view and his interpretation of the construction of opportunities and biographical innovations that are presented to him. Posed innovations that have been promoted throughout the twentieth century, both in the way of industrial development and its impact on the lifestyles of consumers who are altering traditional concepts and dynamics instead of others; and by the political changes that have required to the Citizen a performance of greater responsibility in their demands to the state and the revival of democracy, Giddens adjective in dialogue, permanent and general even in private life and cultural values, which are more diverse and flexible (in a life policy).
