Resumen
Este trabajo aborda la manera en que nuestra sociedad enfrenta la muerte. Se plantea que la actitud mas común es tratar de controlar y re-gular todos los acontecimientos alrededor de la misma para convertirla en un evento aséptico, libre de angustias, emociones, olores y defensas que la acompañan; esto se hace vía la medicación o institucionalización de esa experiencia. Así, desde el momento del nacimiento, la experiencia de la muerte esta pautada cuidadosamente por las instituciones sociales. El procedimiento, las condiciones durante el trayecto y el final son siempre sobre impuestos y sobre significados desde afuera. En consecuencia, se despoja a esta experiencia inherentemente humana de su natural dignidad. El sentido de la vida se evapora en el momento de morir, ya que la persona termina por perder su identidad al transitar por los laberintos institucionales que lo condenan al anonimato. A pesar de todo, de una manera u otra, es la cercanía de este acontecimiento la que nos puede ayudar a recuperar la autenticidad y a replantearnos preguntas fundamentales sobre la naturaleza humana.
Abstract
This work tackles the way in which our society faces death. It is considered that the most common attitude is trying to control and rule al1 the events around it in order to turn it into an aseptic event, free of anguishes, emotions, pains and defense that accompanies it; this is achieved through medication or institutionalization of this experience. So the experience of death is carefully guided by social institutions since one's birth. The process conditions during the trajectory and the end are always imposed and oversingnified. The result of this inherently human experience is divested of its natural dignity. The sense of life evaporates at the moment of dying because a person finishes by losing his identity while moving through the institutional mazes that condemn him to anonymity. However, one way or another it is the proximity of this event that can help us to recover the authenticity and to think once more about fundamental questions regarding human nature.
