Resumen
El objetivo del presente estudio fue identificar el panorama epidemiológico de la influenza en México previo a la emisión de la alerta epidemiológica e identificar la oportunidad de la misma. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo de fuentes oficiales identificando el comportamiento y caracterÃsticas de los casos notificados de influenza y neumonÃas. Existe una mayor incidencia entre los menores de edad. El Distrito Federal ocupó el primer lugar en la tasa de incidencia de la enfermedad. Se presentó un incremento de casos acumulados a partir de la cuarta semana epidemiológica en comparación a los mismos periodos de los tres años previos. Existe un retraso en la emisión de la alerta epidemiológica acorde a la tendencia identificada a través de la notificación de casos emitidos del boletÃn epidemiológico nacional.
Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify the epidemiological condition of influenza in Mexico before the emission of the epidemiological alert and to identify the opportunity of it. A descriptive study was conducted from official sources identifying the behavior and characteristics of reported cases of influenza and pneumonia. There is a higher incidence among children, the Federal District ranked first in the rate of incidence of the disease. It exists an increase of cases accumulated from the fourth epidemiological week, compared to the same periods of the previous three years. There is a delay in the emission of the epidemiological alert according with the number of reported cases in the national epidemiological bulletin.
