Resumen
Desde la llegada del hombre a la cuenca de México hace 11 mil años, hasta avanzado el siglo XX, su biodiversidad se vio afectada por la explotación desmedida de los recursos naturales, la contaminación de agua, tierra y aire y la eliminación de sus lagos para convertir su lecho en suelo urbano y agotar los cuerpos de agua que yacen en el subsuelo, sólo para aliviar la sed de una megalópolis de más de 21 millones de habitantes. Por lo tanto, el cambio climático en esta área y su contribución al calentamiento global son parte de las preocupaciones que se analizan en este trabajo, en el que se resume la historia de esta tragedia ambiental y se analizan sus tendencias a principio del siglo XXI.
Abstract
Since the menÂ’s arriving to the Mexican basin 11000 years ago, until advanced XX century, its biodiversity has being affected for the irrational exploitation of natural resources, the pollution of water, land and air, and the elimination of its lakes, just to change its bed into urban land, and the run dry of the water bodies that lie in the subsoil, to alleviate the thirst of a megalopolis with more than 21 millions people. There for the climate change in this area and its contribution to the global warming are part of the concerns in this paper where is resumed the history of this environmental tragedy and tries to analyze its trends in the beginnings of XXI century.
